Our History
In 1946, Charles Barclay, opened the doors of Barclay’s Radiator Service for the very first time. Situated in Kincaid Street, the business saw Bob and Kevin join the radiator industry. James became part of the team in 1980.
They decided to move to a purpose built premises at 37 Pearson Street in 1980 and soon realised the need of quality staff and good training. The business continued to grow, and we eventually purchased another well-known Wagga Wagga business, Wagga Car Airconditioning.
This acquisition enabled us to offer you, our valued customer, a one stop heating and cooling service centre.
As the family vehicle became more advanced, the need to branch into the auto electrical side of our industry became evident. In 2006, we searched for, and found, a quality auto electrician who soon became a valued member of our team.
In 2015 we diversified to install and service alcohol interlocks, we joined the Smart Start team to offer an affordable alternative for the mandatory and voluntary installation of interlocks. This has become a big part of our business and is growing rapidly.
In 2018, James, a qualified petrol and diesel mechanic joined our team, enabling the servicing, and repair of all types of vehicles. This has been expanding and has allowed us to put Marty and Taylah through mechanical apprenticeships.
